Poly(A) – polyadenylic acid, Carrier RNA, lyophilized in small and convenient portions. The addition of carrier RNA enhances binding traces of nucleic acids to silica membranes (e.g. short DNA fragments, viral DNA/RNA). This is particularly important in cases where the sample contains very few target molecules. Poly(A) has been successfully used for PCR e.g. droplet digital PCR (ddPCR). Poly(A) chain length ranges from 2100 to 10000 nucleotides.
